Dr. McPherson is an assistant attending computational oncologist. Dr. McPherson’s research focuses on genomic instability, mutational processes and the evolution of cancer genomes through structural change.  Dr McPherson has a strong interest in single cell technologies.  In collaboration with Dr. Shah, Dr. McPherson has helped bring single cell whole genome sequencing to MSK, providing computational support for the Direct Library Preparation protocol, newly implemented at the Integrated Genomics Operation core facility.  Dr. McPherson’s team also provides operational support for single cell sequencing based projects resulting from collaborations with Drs Shah and Aparicio (University of British Columbia), including projects on fitness modelling in cancer and single cell resolution mutational signatures.  In addition, Dr. McPherson’s team provides support for Dr. Shah’s research projects including SPECTRUM.  Supporting work includes data management, genomic analysis and authoring visualization platforms.
