NIH-funded post-doctoral position is available at the Rudin Laboratory for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, hard-working individual to conduct research in cancer biology and metastasis. The laboratory at MSK, directed by Charles Rudin MD PhD, is broadly interested in the development and testing of novel therapeutic approaches to lung cancer in preclinical models including patient-derived xenografts.
The successful candidate should have a strong background in cell/cancer biology, immunology, metastasis, molecular biology, multicolor flow cytometry, disease models (cell culture, organoids, xenografts, and animal models), proteomics/genomics, and/or informatics. The candidates are also encouraged to explore new research areas and seek independent funding as part of their own career development.
The ideal candidate should have:
- A PhD or MD/PhD within the last three years
- A proven academic publication track record, including first-authored publications at high profile journals
- Excellent scientific, organizational, record-keeping, problem-solving skill
- (Preferred but not required for application): an established expertise in computational biology

Research Technician
Rudin Laboratory, Sloan Kettering Institute
As a Research Technician, you will perform research activities to complete science-based projects. You will normally receive detailed instructions while making observations, analyzing data and interpreting results according to laboratory procedures. The Research Technician will provide support to all technical/research staff and postdocs, but with a focus on CRISPR screens and tissue processing for patient-derived xenograft development.
You are:
- Someone with excellent interpersonal skills, problem solving flexibility and adaptability able to interface with lab staff
- Adept at planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments with a keen eye for detail
- Action oriented and eager to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm
You will:
- Conduct CRISPR-Cas9 based genetic screens.
- Efficiently process human lung tissue specimen for downstream applications, such as RNA sequencing, engraftment into immunocompromised animals, flow cytometry, cell- sorting, and T cell culture.
- Proficient in cloning and cell culture.
- Operate lab equipment such as Gentlemacs Cell Dissociator and cell sorter.
- Properly organize, catalog and track the samples and update the lab’s database
- Prepare laboratory equipment, instruments, solutions, stains, assays and other supplies as instructed for research experiments.
- Provide assistance with other on-going research for peers and research personnel in the laboratory by completing tasks related to the projects within the deadline specified.
- Maintain excellent record in lab notebook
- Purchase equipment and materials for the laboratory.
- Assist Administrative Assistant in generation of purchase order information for supplies and equipment by gathering information for online purchase.
