Cell biologist Michael Overholtzer was looking for genetic mutations in cancer cells when he observed a process called entosis, in which one living cell invades another and dies. In his laboratory at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Dr. Overholtzer is studying this phenomenon in the hope that a better understanding of entosis will one day lead to new ways to make tumor cells die.
