The International Observership Program is accepting applications beginning in April 2022. Onsite visits will resume in July, 2022, with start dates every Tuesday. Please contact the physician directly to arrange applying for the Observership Program.

Our International Observership Program gives doctors and scientists sponsored by a Memorial Sloan Kettering faculty member the opportunity to interact with our experts and participate in clinical and educational activities, including various conferences, medical grand rounds, and seminars.

The sponsor is a physician or scientist who has agreed to serve as host and mentor during the Observership period. The number of applicants accepted will be limited, and visits are for a maximum of 1 month.

Eligibility

To be accepted to the program, applicants will only be allowed to stay 30 days, and start dates are on Tuesday.

To be accepted into the program, applicants must:

  • Have completed their training and be a practicing physician, PhD, or DDS with a hospital affiliation.
  • Possess strong English-language skills and be responsible for obtaining their own visa and living accommodations.
  • Provide proof of a World Health Organization (WHO)-approved vaccination is required.

If you are a medical student, you may be interested in our medical elective program for visiting U.S. and international medical students.

How to Apply

To apply for an Observership, you must:

  • Contact an MSK faculty member to discuss having them sponsor your visit.
  • Discuss and select dates with the faculty member (1 day to 1 month) — start dates are every Tuesday.

If the faculty member agrees to sponsor your visit:

  • They will begin the process by submitting the request to the International Center.
  • You will then receive an email with a link to complete the online application.
  • You will be asked to upload a copy of your CV, passport, and proof of vaccination with a WHO-approved vaccine.

The approval process typically takes 4 weeks. Accepted applicants will receive an email confirming their acceptance to the Observership Program.

Approved applicants will need to submit proof of a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test 5 days before coming onsite to MSK.

Due to the high volume of requests, we are not able to accommodate every request
