Laura Liberman, Director of the Office of Faculty Development

The Office of Faculty Development (OFD) within the Office of the President was established in 2012 to foster one of Memorial Sloan Kettering’s most valuable resources: our faculty.

Directed by internationally renowned physician-scientist and breast imaging expert Laura Liberman, the OFD serves as a resource for recruiting, developing, and enhancing the environment for Memorial Sloan Kettering faculty.

Our specific areas of focus include initiatives for women, junior faculty, faculty at Memorial Sloan Kettering’s expanding regional network sites, and students. Our faculty recruitment initiatives embrace institutional diversity, and our academic programs for students focus on increasing the diversity and number of outstanding physician-scientists in oncology.

  • Career Development: Office of Diversity Programs

We provide career development opportunities for our faculty, support the participation of faculty in career development seminars sponsored by other organizations, and aid in faculty recruitment.

  • Program for Women Faculty Affairs

The Program for Women Faculty Affairs is dedicated to ensuring that female and male faculty members enjoy equal opportunities for professional development.

  • Junior Faculty

The Office of Faculty Development supports recruitment and career advancement for junior faculty physicians and scientists at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

  • Student Programs

The Office of Faculty Development (OFD) sponsors student programs to foster the development of future physicians and scientists, with a focus on increasing the diversity of the oncology workforce.
