Why Choose MSK?
We are here to help.
At Memorial Sloan Kettering, cancer care is what we know best and the only thing that we do. As the world’s oldest and largest private cancer center, we’ve been caring for people with this disease for a very long time — more than 130 years. We keep our patients at the center of all of our work and we’re constantly thinking about how we can support you and your loved ones at every turn.
We know more about cancer than ever before — and the outlook has never been better. Today more than half of all people diagnosed with cancer can be cured, and many others will live long lives even with cancer. As pioneers in research, we offer you the best available treatment for your exact condition.
Immunotherapy is one of the most promising ways to treat cancer today. In fact, immunotherapy was born at MSK more than a century ago. Our physician-scientists have been at the forefront in implementing groundbreaking immune therapies, including (CAR) T cell therapy and the development of drugs known as checkpoint inhibitors. For some cancers, this can be a highly effective alternative to chemotherapy.
MSK researchers are continually making scientific discoveries in genetics. Our targeted tumor sequencing test, MSK-IMPACT™ (Integrated Mutation Profiling of Actionable Cancer Targets), was designed to detect gene mutations and other critical genetic aberrations in both rare and common cancers. Available exclusively to MSK patients, this test can provide results that help rule out treatment options that may be ineffective and potentially lead to new therapies targeting to genetic mutations.
